COVID-19 Spring Booster Vaccination

COVID-19 Spring Booster Vaccination

COVID-19 hasn’t gone away.

Coronavirus is a respiratory virus that spreads easily through the air when people cough or sneeze. It can also spread when people touch surfaces where the virus has landed, then touch their eyes, nose or mouth.

Coronavirus can be serious. Older adults and people with a weakened immune system are more at risk of complications and need extra protection.

This spring the COVID-19 vaccine is being offered to people at increased risk of getting seriously ill from COVID-19. This includes:

  • residents in care homes for older adults
  • adults aged 75 years and over on 30 June 2026 (born on or before 30 June 1951)
  • people aged 6 months and over on 1 April 2026 (born on or before 1 October 2025) with a weakened immune system

Even if your health condition is well managed, you’re still at higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19.
