Lanarkshire Carers Annual General Meeting (AGM) - With and For Carers 2024
26 September 2024
Lanarkshire Carers Annual General Meeting (AGM) took place on Wednesday 25 September 2024.
Full members in attendance at our AGM were welcomed by Lynn O'Hara, Vice-Chairperson and Samar Sheikh, Chairperson at Lanarkshire Carers. Following the presentation of our formal agenda items, full members heard about the work of Lanarkshire Carers during the operational year from April 2023 to March 2024. We were delighted to present the Annual Report for the operational year April 2023 to March 2024; ‘With and For Carers’ highlighting examples of how we work with carers and the impact of our service delivery throughout another remarkably busy year.

We celebrated the development of our full membership involvement and heard first-hand from some of our board and Joyce Findlay; a full member, who shared her membership journey, experiences and participation at Lanarkshire Carers.
We would like to thank Joyce for taking the time to share her video story which we premiered at yesterday's AGM, which you can view below.
Lanarkshire Carers supports carer voice, influence, participation, and representation locally and nationally. At our AGM in 2022, Full Members told us that they wanted to be more involved but felt that they needed more support to do this. As part of our Full Member Learning and Development, we created the Participate with Confidence session, in partnership with the Scottish Community Development Council.
Following a discussion at this year's AGM about how we can further support our full member involvement; we held our Participate with Confidence awards ceremony where Full Members who had completed the session, were presented with certificates by Samar Sheikh to mark their achievement.
We also premiered a second video, which you can view below, featuring feedback we have received from Full Members who have completed the Participate with Confidence session telling us what it meant to them.
We hope this encourages other members to get involved and welcome you to get in touch with us to have a conversation about how you can support the work of Lanarkshire Carers. For more information on Lanarkshire Carers Membership and how you can get involved, click below.
