University of Strathclyde Future Carer Conference

As part of Carers Week, we would like to take the opportunity to invite you along to the Future Carer Conference at the University of Strathclyde, exploring how communities can better support carers through research, practice and lived experience.

The Future Carer Conference is a half‑day event focused on one central question:

How can we build communities that better support carers — now and in the future?

This event brings together carers, researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and innovators to share perspectives, explore new ideas, and connect lived experience, academic research, and practice.

The conference will include:

• Insight from Scottish and international speakers
• Reflections grounded in the lived experience of caring
• Discussion of emerging challenges and opportunities for carers
• Whole‑room conversation with light, optional interaction
• Time to connect informally over lunch.

We will have return bus transport arranged, leaving from Lanarkshire Carers Hamilton Centre.

Spaces for this event are very limited.

This event is an opportunity to celebrate the vital role you play as an unpaid carer during Carers Week. You will also be able to find out more about governance arrangements within Lanarkshire Carers, and how you can become more involved in influencing and shaping services for the future support of unpaid carers across Lanarkshire.
