This 2-hour in-person workshop is designed specifically for carers to give you practical tools to connect and communicate with your loved one with confidence.
Understand how dementia changes speech and comprehension over time, helping you make sense of why your loved one might struggle to find words or follow long conversations. Discover simple, everyday ways to adapt your speaking style, use non-verbal cues, and listen more effectively to reduce frustration for both of you. Gain gentle, reassuring tips to manage daily stress, interpret the feelings behind the words, and protect your own well-being.

Notes
At Lanarkshire Carers, we try our very best to ensure that carers get access to as much information and training opportunities as possible to help them in their caring role. We provide free of charge training courses to ensure that no carer will ever be unable to attend due to financial reasons. However, there is a cost to us and for some courses, it can be considerable.
We understand that as carers, something can arise which would prevent you from attending a pre-registered course. If you are unable to attend please contact us as soon as possible. Many of these courses have a waiting list and unless we know, we are unable to offer your place to someone else.
