Attending this festive printmaking workshop offers essential respite for carers, providing a dedicated, stress-relieving outlet to step away from daily responsibilities.
By fostering relaxation, social connection, and a sense of accomplishment, the session actively supports emotional wellbeing such as:
Stress Reduction: Engaging in hands-on creative activities promotes a state of mindful focus (or 'flow'). This natural meditative state lowers stress hormones (cortisol) and boosts 'feel-good' chemicals like dopamine.
Emotional Respite: Carers often put others' needs first. This workshop provides guilt-free 'me-time' to pause, recharge, and focus entirely on personal joy and self-expression.
Social Connection: Sharing a welcoming, supportive space with other unpaid carers helps reduce isolation. It allows participants to share experiences, build friendships, and strengthen community support networks.
Building Self-Esteem: Learning simple, beginner-friendly techniques allows carers to see a project from start to finish. Creating a unique, handmade seasonal design fosters a powerful sense of pride and personal achievement.
You will be Guided by a professional artist, you'll learn simple printmaking techniques to create your own unique seasonal artwork and handmade designs. Perfect for complete beginners, this relaxed session is a great opportunity to try something new, unwind, and enjoy spending time with other carers in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Notes
At Lanarkshire Carers, we try our very best to ensure that carers get access to as much information and training opportunities as possible to help them in their caring role. We provide free of charge training courses to ensure that no carer will ever be unable to attend due to financial reasons. However, there is a cost to us and for some courses, it can be considerable.
We understand that as carers, something can arise which would prevent you from attending a pre-registered course. If you are unable to attend please contact us as soon as possible. Many of these courses have a waiting list and unless we know, we are unable to offer your place to someone else.
