This gentle and supportive wellbeing walk is designed specifically for carers who would benefit from time outdoors, light physical activity, and social connection. Join Lanarkshire Carers for a relaxed, guided walk in a safe and welcoming environment, giving you the opportunity to step away from your caring role and focus on your own wellbeing.
Through fresh air, gentle movement, and informal conversation, you’ll have the opportunity to reduce stress, boost your mood, and improve your overall wellbeing while enjoying the natural surroundings. The walk is paced to suit all abilities and includes opportunities to pause, reflect, and connect with others who understand the challenges of caring.
You will also have the chance to meet Lanarkshire Carers staff and build connections with other carers in your local area, creating a supportive and non-judgemental space where you can feel understood and valued.
During the session, participants will:
Enjoy a calm and inclusive walking experience in a local outdoor setting
Experience the mental and physical benefits of gentle activity
Connect with other carers in a supportive, friendly environment
Take time for themselves away from caring responsibilities
Learn simple mindfulness and relaxation techniques that can support everyday wellbeing
No prior fitness or walking experience is required. The focus is on comfort, enjoyment, and creating a positive, welcoming space where carers can recharge.
To get the most from the session, please wear suitable walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. It is also recommended that you bring water to stay hydrated.
At Lanarkshire Carers, we try our very best to ensure that carers get access to as much information and training opportunities as possible to help them in their caring role. We provide free of charge training courses to ensure that no carer will ever be unable to attend due to financial reasons. However, there is a cost to us and for some courses, it can be considerable.
We understand that as carers, something can arise which would prevent you from attending a pre-registered course. If you are unable to attend please contact us as soon as possible. Many of these courses have a waiting list and unless we know, we are unable to offer your place to someone else.
