Making space for yourself at Christmas (Online Session)

Making space for yourself at Christmas (Online Session)
Online Course

Christmas can bring warmth and connection, but it can also increase pressure, expectations and emotional strain. For carers, the festive period may mean additional responsibilities, disrupted routines, complicated family dynamics and very little opportunity to rest.

This supportive online workshop will help participants recognise the signs of festive overwhelm and explore practical ways to manage stress and anxiety. We will look at expectations, boundaries, nervous-system regulation and realistic self-care that can fit around a caring role.

You will leave with a personal plan for protecting their energy, reducing unnecessary pressure and creating small moments of calm during the festive period.

By the end of the session, you will:

  • Understand why the festive period can intensify stress, anxiety and emotional overwhelm
  • Recognise your own early warning signs that pressure is becoming unmanageable
  • Explore the impact of expectations, comparison, guilt and disrupted routines
  • Learn practical techniques for calming the body and responding to difficult thoughts and emotions
  • Consider how boundaries, communication and shared expectations may reduce unnecessary pressure
  • Create a realistic personal wellbeing plan for the festive period.
