Steps of Caring (East Kilbride & Strathaven) (2 Week Course)
In Person Course
Steps of Caring is specifically designed to support carers, either new to Lanarkshire Carers or new to their caring role. We understand that caring can be a daunting and overwhelming experience (particularly in the early stages of caring); therefore, we have developed Steps of Caring as a guide to support you at a time when you need it most.
We understand it can be difficult to access the right support and information when you don’t know where to turn, which may feel isolating and worrisome. Steps of Caring will help connect you to local communities and services that may be able to assist you in navigating and sustaining your caring role, whilst relieving you of additional stress and pressure.
As a carer in the East Kilbride & Strathaven area, this session will help guide you build your support network as well as finding out more information about Lanarkshire Carers and the services we provide. Throughout this informal relaxed session, you will also have an opportunity to meet other carers in similar situations, which may also increase your peer support network within your community. Our sessions are facilitated by our Carer Support Workers who offer their expertise and knowledge within your local area in a warm, welcoming environment. Light refreshments will also be provided.
If you are interested in attending, please contact us to have a conversation and book a place.
Available Dates / Times:
Tuesday 20 & 27 October 2026, 10:30am - 12:30pm
Venue:
The Village Centre, 12 Maxwell Drive, East Kilbride, G74 4HG
Notes
At Lanarkshire Carers, we try our very best to ensure that carers get access to as much information and training opportunities as possible to help them in their caring role. We provide free of charge training courses to ensure that no carer will ever be unable to attend due to financial reasons. However, there is a cost to us and for some courses, it can be considerable.
We understand that as carers, something can arise which would prevent you from attending a pre-registered course. If you are unable to attend please contact us as soon as possible. Many of these courses have a waiting list and unless we know, we are unable to offer your place to someone else.
