This workshop is brought to you by Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland to support carers who are caring for someone who has experienced a stroke and discuss the challenges they may face on a day-to-day basis.
Caring for someone who has survived a stroke may have its own challenges for you as a carer and bring various emotions and questions. This session is designed based on the lived experience of stroke survivors and what they have shared.
The session will involve information and exercises that will allow you as a carer to experience what survivors live with daily, whilst these can’t replicate the lived experience exactly it will help with your understanding and empathy shifting to a collaborative approach.
You will also have an opportunity to meet with other carers in similar situations and access the all-important peer support.
At Lanarkshire Carers, we try our very best to ensure that carers get access to as much information and training opportunities as possible to help them in their caring role. We provide free of charge training courses to ensure that no carer will ever be unable to attend due to financial reasons. However, there is a cost to us and for some courses, it can be considerable.
We understand that as carers, something can arise which would prevent you from attending a pre-registered course. If you are unable to attend please contact us as soon as possible. Many of these courses have a waiting list and unless we know, we are unable to offer your place to someone else.
